Windows Server 2022 Installation Guide
Windows Server 2022 is Microsoft’s latest server operating system, released in August 2021. This edition introduces significant improvements in security, hybrid management with Azure, and performance. Windows Server 2022 is available in three main editions: Standard, Datacenter, and Datacenter: Azure Edition, each designed for different business needs.
Windows Server 2022 has an extended support lifecycle until October 2031. Microsoft provides regular security updates for this operating system. It is recommended to keep the server up to date with the latest security patches.
System Requirements for Windows Server 2022
- Processor: 1.4 GHz or faster 64-bit CPU, with support for NX and DEP
- RAM: Minimum 512 MB (2 GB or more recommended)
- Disk Space: At least 32 GB (more may be required for updates and roles)
- Graphics: Super VGA adapter (1024 x 768) or higher resolution
- Network: Compatible Ethernet network adapter
- TPM: TPM 2.0 recommended for advanced security features
- Installation Media: 8GB or larger USB drive, or DVD

Selecting OS Preferences
Choose the language, time and currency format, and keyboard or input method you prefer. In this case, we will select Spanish.

Start the Installation Process
Click on the "Install now" button to begin the installation of Windows Server 2022.

Select OS Edition
Choose the edition of Windows Server 2022 you want to install (Standard or Datacenter) and the installation type (with or without Desktop Experience), in this case with Desktop Experience.

Accept the License Terms
Read and accept Microsoft's license terms by checking the corresponding box. Click "Next" to continue.

Installation Type
Select "Custom: Install Windows Server only (advanced)" for a clean server installation.

Select Installation Drive
Select the drive where you want to install Windows Server. For servers with RAID or advanced storage, load the necessary drivers.

Start Installation
Click "Next" to begin the installation. Windows Server will copy the necessary files to the disk.

Copying Files
The system copies the necessary files for installation. This process may take several minutes depending on your hardware.

Preparing the User
We will create a password for our Administrator user.

OS Startup
Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to unlock.

Login
Enter the Administrator password.

Windows Server 2022 Desktop
Congratulations! You are now on the Windows Server 2022 desktop. You can now enjoy your system or customize it by installing apps, changing settings, and adjusting the appearance.

After installing Windows Server 2022, it is recommended to change the administrator password, properly configure the server's features and roles according to its purpose (such as Active Directory, DNS, or IIS), and apply the latest updates from Windows Update. You should also install a server-compatible antivirus, set up automatic backup policies, and disable unnecessary services to improve security and performance.
